I wrote this song in 2003. The music carried me through a grueling semester of college. The lyrics were inspired by a fellow student I was chasing around for a while who was a brilliant, thoughtful, crooning philosopher of all things.
lyrics
ELECTRIC LOVE
When the pretty girls walk
They don’t gotta use their legs or feet they fly
And when the pretty girls talk
They don’t gotta use their lips or tongue they lie with their eyes
And that’s alright by me cause I’m just goo company. I’m a back up singer. I’m just good company.
But I want you here with me
My darling, my lovely
To feel the tug pull me in,
pull me in to our electric love
cause oh it sings to me
la de da de dee
and as the raven flies
another raven dies
and as the bird sings she needs nothing
and oh I hope its what God has for me
yeah that’d be fine that’s alright by me cause. I’m a back up singer. I’m just good company.
But I want you here with me
My darling, my lovely
To feel the tug pull me in,
pull me in to our electric love
cause oh it sings to me
la de da de dee
